The GAN SQUARE-1 is GAN’s first dedicated Square-1 speedcube, engineered for cubers who want exceptional speed, precision and control in one of the most challenging WCA puzzles. With an enormous range of possible shapes and combinations, Square-1 delivers a completely different solving experience — and GAN has equipped it with advanced technology to make every turn smoother and more predictable.
MagLev Tension System
The GAN SQUARE-1 introduces MagLev technology to the Square-1 format. Instead of traditional springs, magnetic repulsion creates a smooth, ultra-light turning feel while reducing centre friction. The result is fluid slicing action with virtually no contact between the opposing magnetic components.
36-Magnet Biaxial Positioning
A sophisticated 36-magnet system provides magnetic guidance in two directions. The configuration includes 32 inter-piece magnets and 4 core magnets, helping the puzzle automatically align at 30° increments while providing crisp 180° slash positioning.
This gives you greater control during fast solves and helps make positioning more consistent when you’re pushing for personal bests.
36-Way Numerical Tuning
Everyone has a different preference when it comes to cube feel. The GAN SQUARE-1 lets you customise yours with 36 tuning combinations, using:

Built for Stability and Speed
The newly engineered dual-foot structure provides additional stability during high-speed turning while helping reduce friction. GAN states that the design achieves approximately 30% less frictional resistance compared with a triple-foot structure.
The strengthened construction also provides improved resistance to popping, giving speedcubers greater confidence when executing aggressive turns.
Premium UV-Coated Finish
The GAN SQUARE-1 features a UV-coated exterior designed to provide a durable, grippy surface. Its honeycomb-style touch face with integrated tracks helps distribute lubricant smoothly across the contact areas for a consistent turning feel.
